Here we go...

We friends, here we go. It is time to start our surrogate journey. Tomorrow is our first appointment with the IVF physician. Our doctor is Sam Chantilis, and his practice has been named one of the 10 best fertility centers in the country. They are located in Dallas, which is were all the retrievals, and transfers will occur. With football season approaching, you all will understand...he is getting our game plan together. Here are a few things that we do already know...they will retrieve my eggs and use John's sperm. I am sure he is going to try to call-in sick for the appointment tomorrow! The embryos will be fertilized in a dish, and implanted about 6-10 days later. Our carrier will be what is called a "gestational carrier", meaning we just need a stork.

Tomorrow, we also meet our agent. Gayla Wilson, with DFW gestational carriers. We have been speaking with her for several months, and are very excited to finally put a face with a name. We have a couple of options for carriers, and after our appointment, we will move forward with all of the screening processes. Anyone interested in her website, it is www.dfwgc.com. She is an amazing lady and has been a carrier herself, for 2 different families. Our hopes are that we will be able to include information about our carrier, once the selection/screening process has been completed. I know that she will compliment our family and allow us to grow!

I will post an update, following our appointment. Please pray that we are blessed with an amazing team of physicians, and healthy eggs! Big squeeze hugs to all of our friends and family as you follow us through this journey.
